Hozelock 7825 - Hozelock 2 n 1 Submersible Flood Pump + Float Switch 240v

Hozelock's Flood Pump will move water quickly and efficiently. Flood Pump can be left set-up and will operate automatically when the water level rises. Pump turns on at 400mm water depth, and switches off at 190mm water depth. Use Flood Pump in the house or in the garden. For use in cellars, garages, with garden flooding, and in trenches and ditches.

High flor pump maximum flow 6000 litres per hour and maximum lift 6m. The flood pump is a self priming pump that can pump dirty and clean water to enable the emptying of flooded rooms, cellars, and ditches. In areas that are prone to flooding the pump can be left set up and the automatic float switch will turn the pump on as the water level rises. The pump works best when it is installed in a sump.

The pump can also be used to move clean and dirty water around the garden, eg to transfer the water from a padding pool to a water butt.

This pump is not suitable to be used in swimming pools, table fountains, aquariums, fountains, filters for fish ponds, waterfalls

Includes:

Automatic on /off water level sensor

1 x Stepped hose adaptor (25mm to 32mm)

1 x Multi use Flood Pump

10m cable and plug

Additional information regarding Submersible Water Pumps

Pumps with automatic float switches allow the pump to be left unattended and automatically cuts out when the water level drops below the pumps minimum. Pumps with no float switch are manual and must not be left running when the water level drops below the required minimum.

It is recommended that an RCD is always used with a submersible pump as should be the case whenever electrical products are used near water.

The maximum flow rate of a pump is directly affected by the height it has to lift the water. In general the flow rate will decrease as the lift height increases. Horizontal pumping distance is also affected use the formula Max Height - Working Height x 10 to determine the maximum horizontal distance the pump will be capable of.

Clean Water Pumps:

Generally clean water pumps are suitable for the drainage of cellars, sinks, cisterns, pools, baths and other general transfer of water. They are not suitable for outside ponds or other dirty water as they will only usually allow small particles to pass through. Most clean water pumps will allow suction to a very low level (normally within 5 - 10mm) before they cut out but remember this only applies if they have a float switch.

Dirty Water Pumps:

These are suitable for the drainage of most water types as they allow for a much larger particle types. Be aware however that they will usually drain water down to a level of between 25 - 50mm depending on the particle size that they allow for. Automatic cut out only applies if they have a float switch. Unless specified dirty water pumps are not suitable for agriculture type use or for drainage of water containing salt or other chemicals. The term 'dirty' in most cases applies to 'water contains small particles such as grit, sand, mud and small pebbles'.

Important:

Most submersible pumps require a lay flay hose which has a wider diameter than garden hose in order to drain the water without damaging the pump, to allow for particles (if applicable) and to allow for fast flow rates.
